About Me

Hey all! I am a graduate from the visual journalism program at Western Washington University as well as from their College of Fine and Performing Arts. I have been practicing photography locally for 3 years now, starting as not only a hobby but as a journalistic practice. I worked as a photographer for The Western Front, Western’s student publication, for 3 quarters and worked as a photo editor in the summer of 2020.

On the hobby side of things, I did photoshoots with friends and did concert shoots for people I knew in bands around Bellingham regularly for years. Last year, I joined a team of writers and photographers for a startup music culture magazine called Breakout. Natalie Vinh, the creator, had me shoot a number of house shows and put me on the fast track to gaining experience as a concert photographer. By the end of 2021, I had been published on the magazine’s website several times. My favorite shoot happened at Westfest 2021; I sent the scenes I captured to all the bands that performed and picked up a couple paid gigs for the future just from that one night of photos.

This is why I built this site. I am committed to practicing concert photography at an affordable rate for local bands, and I want to offer my services to anyone and everyone interested. I am still contributing to Breakout in 2022, and will be for the foreseeable future, but I want to document even further the music scene in Bellingham and capture as many bands as will have me.

Though concert photography is my main interest, I practice many other styles like portraiture, surreal/abstract, and nature. My blog is as much about birdwatching as it is about the Bellingham music scene. I am available for all avenues of photography, and if you want portrait work done, my rate for that is negotiable, just ask!
